New York Post Two
On Monday Neil, Shirley, Joshua, Grandma and Grandpa came down to visit us. We all had a very nice family meal together and enjoyed everyone's company. Which was very nice since Bill was flying out the next morning to head back to San Antonio and Neil, Shirley and Joshua were driving back to Georgia.
While we were there we were on a quest.... A quest to find the BEST icecream place in town. Since the boys cannot have dairy, our quest was more like the best place that has slurpees/smoothies/popsicles! Between the couple of places that we went to, I'd have to say my favorite was. . . . De Voe's. Wow, just thinking back I might... be ... drooling ...! Chocolate icecream with hot fudge and peanut butter - topped with whipped cream and a cherry. DELISH! As for the boys, their favorite place was . . . Ok, nevermind - I don't remember the name of it and I didn't take a picture of them there, but it was their favorite. They got Dora one night and Spongebob another. They were in their GLORY! Tuesday night after our first quest out for icecream - De Voe's - we came home and got everything situated and talked to Daddy on the webcam! We let Grandma open up her belated birthday present - which was massive. Note to oneself - Canvas print we got is GINORMUS! ;o)
During our days we kept very busy. Great Grandma and Great Grandpa bought Billy and Finnegan a pool to play in. Which was an absolute BLAST. It had a slide and a water fountain coming out of the top - really neat! We'd go swimming in our swimsuits... We'd go swimming (well they) naked and the absolutely loved to go swimming in their clothes/shoes/diaper the whole shabang! After the second time, I just dressed them in their swim suit bottoms ;o) Billy loved to wash the leaves and get all the dirt off of them. After he showed us that it was clean, he'd drop it on the ground and get another leaf and this process kept on! On other days we made forts inside when it was raining out. Other days we drew on the driveway with our chalk. The boys would lay down and I would trace them and then they would trace us. They also were in LOVE with the car that their neighbors gave to the boys. Finnegan wasn't to happy about sharing, but before we left he got a lot better. Billy still had his turns and he actually really liked just pushing his brother around and maybe into a few trees as well ;o) We picked up lots of sticks and had 'Star Wars' fights. We also found out that Finnegan is in love with corn . . on the cob. He can eat two if you'd let him! When PaPa would come home he'd put his tie on the boys and Billy thought that it was the most amazing thing ever, Finnegan just checked it out - It may have been his first time really seeing a tie! We did go to McDonalds a lot (no wonder I gained weight!) We'd let the boys play and run out all of their energy while Momma got a cup of coffee/lunch and watch the sparkle in her sons eye when he finally made it to the top 'ALL BY MYSELF'. We went to Clifton Commons and saw a Shadow Puppet show! That was a lot of fun, they even had free snacks! We got cotton candy and a snow cone with no juice ;o)
